Theodore A. Couloumbis, The American University, Washington

Theodore A. Couloumbis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece
on June 25, 1935. His secondary education was at Athens College
and he is a holder of a General Certificate of Education
from the Oxford system in England. He immigrated to the
United States in August of 1952. His BA and MA degrees in
political science are from the University of Connecticut (1956
and 1958 respectively). His Ph. D. in International Relations
is from the American University (1964). Since 1965 he has been
teaching international relations theory, international law, and
international organization at the American University where
he is currently serving as an Associate Professor of International
Relations. He is the author of Greek Political Reaction
to American and NATO Influences (Yale Univ. Press, 1966)
and other publications. He has visited Greece frequently beginning
with the summer of 1963.

James Brown, Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas

Dr. James Brown teaches at present in the Department of Political
Science of the Southern Methodist University at Dallas,
Texas.
He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1960 from the
Texas Christian University, where he majored in International
Relations. In 1962 he presented a thesis on Government to the
same University, for which he received a MA and also his
Doctorate, from Suny at Buffalo. Dr. Brown has specialized,
amongst other topics, in areas of political Parties and Comparative
Civil-military Relations. He has had an article published
in the Social Science Quarterly and has been given research
grants by the National Science Foundation and the Sloan
Foundation. His research has been on heroic addiction and an
investigation to determine the most significant books in political science.
