Περίληψη

Μελετάται η γένεση ισχυρών σεισμών (Μ>6.3) και η εξέλιξη του πεδίου των τάσεων από το 1959 στο ΝΑ τμήμα του Ελληνικού Τόξου, υπολογίζοντας τις μεταβολές των τάσεων Coulomb. Η περιοχή μελέτης χαρακτηρίζεται από μικρής γωνίας κλίσης ανάστροφα ρήγματα και υψηλή σεισμικότητα καθώς είναι τμήμα της ζώνης κατάδυσης. Οι μεταβολές των τάσεων Coulomb υπολογίστηκαν θεωρώντας ότι οι σεισμοί προσομοιάζονται ως στατικές εξαρμώσεις σε ελαστικό ημιχώρο, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τη σειμική ολίσθηση και την αργή τεκτονική φόρτιση των σημαντικών ρηγμάτων που οφείλεται στις κινήσεις των τεκτονικών πλακών. Οι διαρρήξεις προσομοιώνονται με βάση την κατάλληλη παράταξη, κλίση και γωνία ολίσθησης για κάθε σεισμό που εξετάζεται. Εξετάζεται αν οι μεταβολές της τάσης ευνόησαν η εμπόδισαν τη γένεση δεδομένου κάθε φορά σεισμού. Βρέθηκε πως η πλειοψηφία των σεισμών (ισχυρών και μικρότερων) εντοπίζεται σε περιοχές θετικών μεταβολών των τάσεων Coulomb.
