Submissions

Submission Preparation Checklist


As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses an 11-point Calibri font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and for all illustrations, figures, and tables (which are submitted separatedly in an accompanying file) numbered indications are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements of APA style, as outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • General criteria:
    Relevancy of the text to the journal's aim and scope;
    Complete, comprehensible and properly structured presentation of the work;
    Highlighting the research / issue clearly;
    Interesting and applicable text from a research point of view;
    Development and description of the topic supported by a theoretical framework;
    Clear methodology, documentation, research and argumentation;
    Results / conclusions, which contribute to the theory, research and practice of Theatre/Drama and/or Performance Arts in Education;
    Satisfactory and knowledgeable review of literature and references.


    Language:
    Since 2020, the journal supports a full bilingual edition (Greek and English).
    Initially, english-speaking authors may send the article to be rejudged in English. In case the article is accepted for publication, the article is translated to Greek, under the Editorial Board's responsibility, so that it is published in both languages.

    Text format:
    Word file, body text in Calibri, 11', single spaced, fully aligned.

    The system of bibliographic references (intertexts and end bibliography) should follow the APA7 system.

    The texts submitted should be original, according to the format specifications given and not exceed the prescribed number of words, as defined by the Editorial Board.

    Files are returned to the authors prior to any judging process, in case the above specifications are not met.

    The authors retain copyright but all publishing rights belong to the publisher (Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network).

Author Guidelines


General criteria:

- Relevance to the journal’s range of topics
- Comprehensive, readable and well-structured presentation of work
- Highlighting the problem/issue in a clear manner
- A paper that is interesting and applicable from a research point of view
- Development and presentation of a topic supported by a theoretical framework
- Clear methodology, documentation, research and argumentation
- Results/conclusions that contribute to the theory, research and practice of Theatre in Education
- Adequate and up-to-date review of literature and references.

Language: Since 2020, the journal has been published in both Greek and English. Non-Greek speaking authors may submit their manuscript in English. The Editorial Board will be responsible for translating in Greek procedures.

Text formatting: Word file, text body in single-spaced, 11-point Calibri font with justified alignment.

The citation system (in-text citations and reference list) should follow the APA style, 7th edition.

The papers submitted should be original, in accordance with the given format requirements and should not exceed the required number of words, as defined by the EC.

The files will be returned to the authors before any review process in case the above requirements are not met. For further details, you can contact the Editorial Board.

 The authors retain copyright, but all publishing rights belong to the publisher (Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network).

 Authors shall register to the journal's webpage with a username and password and login, before they follow a five-step submission procedure.

Research Articles


Scientific articles: Original research and theoretical papers, in which the theoretical background and research framework should be clear and well documented. The articles are subject to an anonymous peer review process by two reviewers.
Abstract of 150 words
3–5 keywords
Body text of 4,500–6,000 words (introduction, theoretical background, research method, results, discussion)
Notes at the end of the text (endnotes), only if absolutely necessary
References
Curriculum vitae of 150 words
Photographs/tables in a separate file

Innovative Projects Presentations


Descriptions – presentations of innovative projects, which have been implemented in schools or other places with specific educational objectives. In this case, the personal/subjective view should be balanced with integrating research into a theoretical framework. Manuscripts are not subject to an anonymous peer review process; they are reviewed/approved by the Editorial Board (EB).
Abstract of 150 words

Body text of 2,500–3,500 λέξεις (theoretical framework, detailed description of objectives, implementation, evaluation)

Curriculum vitae of 150 words
Photographs in a separate file

PhD Theses


Synopses of doctoral dissertations written in Greece or abroad with special emphasis on Theatre/Drama in Education.
Body text of 1,000 words (full reference to title, subject area, university of origin, content of dissertation).
