POETRY AND MATHEMATICS TEACHING IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Abstract
In the first part of the paper we indicate brief historical data on the relationship between Science and Literature and substantiate the integration of Literature into Mathematics. Afterwards, we think out the relationship between Mathematics and Poetry and especially a type of short form poetry in the context of Mathematics Education. In the last part we describe a research carried out in a University Department in order to utilize haiku poetry in the teaching of Mathematics
