Abstract
A funerary inscription found on the south slope of the citadel of Larisa in Argos mentions Peter, bishop of Kephaloudion. The inscription was initially dated to the second half of the 6th century or the end of the 6th or the beginning of the 7th century. Examination of the letter forms and comparison with precisely dated Byzantine inscriptions point toward a later dating of the monument, probably in the second half of the 9th century, shortly after the middle of the 9th century i.e. during the early post-iconoclastic period.
