Abstract

The church of Hagios Georgios in Akraifnio (12th century) is probably the central church (katholikon) of a monastery, as indicated by the building remains, as also of the architectural parts, in the surrounding area. In this paper, the structural phases will be presented in combination with the recent restoration works (2010-2014) will be examined, also through comparison with similar examples of churches of Boeotia or other regions.
