Abstract
The Icon οf The Last Judgement By Klontzas at Drniš of Dalmatia
In this article is discussed the portable icon of the Last Judgement painted by Georgios Klontzas which is located in the orthodox church of the Dormition of the Virgin at Drniš of Dalmatia. The icon had a faded inscription from which only the date has survived, 19 June 1591. The iconography and the descriptions of its seven zones, along with its stylistic analysis, showcases that the icon under discussion is the earlier out of the two works that are held at the collection of the church of St. George of the Greeks in Venice. Furthermore, other observations on the iconography of the icon hint to the creativity of the artistic personality of Georgios Klontzas.
