Περίληψη

Ο τρόπος που τα παιδιά αντιλαμβάνονται τη γονική φροντίδα καθώς και η αυτοαντίληψή τους επιδρούν σημαντικά στη γνωστική τους ανάπτυξη και ειδικότερα στην ανάπτυξη των εκτελεστικών λειτουργιών. Ένα υποστηρικτικό οικογενειακό περιβάλλον βοηθάει τα παιδιά να ρυθμίσουν τα συναισθήματά τους και να αναπτύξουν την ικανότητά τους για μετατόπιση της προσοχής κατά τη διάρκεια ενός γνωστικού έργου. Μία ζεστή γονικότητα φαίνεται να προβλέπει θετικά όλες τις εκτελεστικές λειτουργίες κατά την παιδική ηλικία. Αντιθέτως, αρνητικές οικογενειακές εμπειρίες μπορεί να οδηγήσουν σε πιο άκαμπτη αυτοαντίληψη και λιγότερη γνωστική ευελιξία. Στην παρούσα μελέτη διερευνήθηκε η γνωστική ευελιξία σε σχέση με την αντιληπτή γονική αποδοχή/απόρριψη και την αναπαράσταση του εαυτού-σε-δράση, σε δείγμα 76 προεφήβων (38 κοριτσιών) ηλικίας 9-11 ετών. Ως προς τη γνωστική ευελιξία αξιολογήθηκε η λειτουργία μετατόπισης της προσοχής μέσω της δοκιμασίας οπτικοκινητικής ιχνηλάτησης (Trail Making Test). Η αντιληπτή γονική αποδοχή/απόρριψη αξιολογήθηκε με το ερωτηματολόγιο Parental Acceptance/Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ-child version). Τέλος, η αναπαράσταση του εαυτού-σε-δράση αξιολογήθηκε μέσα από το ιχνογράφημα Person Picking an Apple from a Tree (PPAT). Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν ότι η αντιληπτή γονική απόρριψη σχετίζεται αρνητικά με την ικανότητα απεικόνισης του εαυτού-σε-δράση και με τη γνωστική ευελιξία. Η εγγύτητα του στόχου φαίνεται να ρυθμίζει τη σχέση μεταξύ μητρικής εχθρότητας/επιθετικότητας και αναπαράστασης του δρώντος εαυτού. Επιπλέον, τα ευρήματα υποδεικνύουν ότι μόνο η εγγύτητα του στόχου συσχετίζεται θετικά με τη γνωστική ευελιξία των παιδιών.
