Περίληψη

Διερευνήθηκε μικροβιολογικά η μηνινγοεγκεφαλίτιδα των μηρυκαστικών από λιοτέρια στη Βόρεια Ελλάδα. Η διάγνωση της νόσου βασίστηκε στην απομόνωση της Listeria monocytogenes από εγκεφάλους βοοειδών, προβάτων και αιγών. Εξετάστηκαν 43 εκτροφές βοοειδών, 310 προβάτων και 976 αιγών, που θεωρήθηκαν ύποπτες της νευρικής μορφής της λιστερίωσης. Θετικές βρέθηκαν δυο εκτροφές βοοειδών (4,6%), 60 προβάτων(19,3%) και 361 αιγών (36,9%). Οι προσβεβλημένες εκτροφέ ςαιγών ήταν στατιστικώς περισσότερες (Ρ<0,05) από εκείνες των προβάτων. Όλα τα στελέχη, εκτός από δυο, απομονώθηκαν από ενήλικα ζώα και τα περισσότερα από αυτά τους μήνες Δεκέμβριο και Ιανουάριο. Από την οροτυπία 141 στελεχών λιστέριας διαπιστώθηκε ότι ο ορότυπος 4b ήταν ο επικρατέστερος (81%) και βρέθηκε σε όλα τα γεωγραφικά διαμερίσματα, όπου διαγνώστηκε η νόσος. Η φαγοτυπία 60 στελεχών βακτηρίου επέτρεψε την ομαδοποίηση τους σε αυτά που ανήκαν στον ίδιο ορότυπο και λύονταν από τον ίδιο φάγο ή από μία σειρά φάγων. Οι ομάδες αυτές βρέθηκαν κυρίως σε όμορα γεωγραφικά διαμερίσματα με ελάχιστες εξαιρέσεις. Το γεγονός αυτό δείχνει πιθανόν την κοινή προέλευση των στελεχών.
