The Education of kindergarten teachers for teaching music (1870‐2008): Historical review
Abstract
The present research attempts to record the education of kindergarten teachers for teaching music in the kindergarten from 1870 to 2008. The programs of the faculties of education for preschool teachers during the specific historic period are investigated. At the same time, the direction and content of preschool teachers’ music education, the influences and the stages from which it has passed in history are also being studied. The study of the curricula, the circulars and other sources shows that the music education for prospective preschool teachers’ was insufficient and, mainly, erroneous up to the foundation of Pedagogic Departments, when its orientation, objectives and content has radically changed.
