Περίληψη

Η περιβαλλοντική συμπεριφορά και οι ποικίλες παράμετροι που την καθορίζουν αποτελούν ένα ευρύ πεδίο, στο οποίο η έρευνα έχει τα τελευταία χρόνια σταδιακά διεισδύσει αξιοποιώντας ένα πλήθος προσεγγίσεων και θεωριών από το χώρο, της κοινωνικής και της περιβαλλοντικής ψυχολογίας και της Κοινωνιολογίας. Η εργασία εστιάζει στην παραπάνω θεματική θέτοντας παράλληλα και επιμέρους συγκριτικά ερωτήματα και ελέγχοντας τον τρόπο με τον οποίο ανταποκρίνονται συγκεκριμένα ερευνητικά μοντέλα σε δείγματα από διαφορετικά πολιτισμικά περιβάλλοντα παρουσιάζοντας τα ευρήματα τα ευρήματα από εμπειρική συγκριτική έρευνα, που πραγματοποιήθηκε από τους συγγραφείς σε πανεπιστημιακά τμήματα από τρεις χώρες, την Ελλάδα, την Κύπρο και την Ελβετία (N = 669). Στόχος της έρευνας ήταν η μελέτη της επίδρασης των αξιών της συλλογικότητας, του ατομικισμού και των περιβαλλοντικών αξιών στις περιβαλλοντικές στάσεις και τη συμπεριφορά. Η επιλογή δειγμάτων από τρεις διαφορετικές χώρες στόχευε να αναδείξει τις μεταξύ τους ομοιότητες καθώς και τις διαφορές σε σχέση με την αλληλεπίδραση μεταξύ αξιών, στάσεων και συμπεριφοράς. Περαιτέρω εξετάστηκε ο διαμεσολαβητικός ρόλος των στάσεων ανάμεσα στις κοινωνικές αξίες και τη συμπεριφορά για κάθε ένα από τα δείγματα ξεχωριστά. Η έρευνα ανέδειξε σημαντικές επιμέρους διαφορές μεταξύ των δειγμάτων από τις τρεις χώρες όχι μόνο ως προς την περιβαλλοντική τους συμπεριφορά, αλλά και σε σχέση με την επίδραση των αξιών και των στάσεων σ’ αυτή.
