Abstract

Maria Cardara’ s book ‘Voices of the lost children of Greece’ is a collection of 14 Greek born adoptees, adopted in USA and Holland in the 1950’s.  Their stories present their experiences of the adoption, the  separation from their families and place of birth, their anguished search of their biological families, their need to visit Greece, the difficulties they have faced in identity formation, their relationships with their adopted parents as well as with the family they made.
