Communication and cooperation of principals and second foreign language teachers in Primary Education
Abstract
This article examines the communication and cooperation between school principals and second foreign language teachers in Primary Education schools. In the theoretical framework we examine the leadership styles based on the literature review, the benefits of good communication between principals and teachers and the obstacles that may arise. Furthermore, we examine the research methodology, the sample, the data collection strategy used and report on the results and findings based on the data collected. It is important to mention that the two populations we compare in terms of the communication relationship they have developed with the school principal are second foreign language teachers and primary school teachers. In most cases there was a wide divergence in the answers given, however in some cases their views concurred. In conclusion, we examine several suggestions to improve the working conditions for second foreign language teachers and eliminate the phenomena of burnout and lack of satisfaction in their workplace.
