Το νόημα στη ζωή και η οικογενειακή ικανοποίηση σε γονείς παιδιών τυπικής και μη τυπικής ανάπτυξης

Τα τελευταία χρόνια, πληθώρα ερευνών μελετά την παρουσία και την αναζήτηση νοήματος ως ψυχολογικό πόρο για τα άτομα που βιώνουν αναμενόμενες και μη προκλήσεις και δυσκολίες στη ζωή. Η παρουσία νοήματος φαίνεται να συνδέεται με την οικογενειακή ικανοποίηση, μια έννοια που παρουσιάζει ιδιαίτερο ερευνητικό ενδιαφέρον, δεδομένων των προκλήσεων που αντιμετωπίζει διαχρονικά ο θεσμός της οικογένειας. Η σχέση μεταξύ των παραπάνω εννοιών δεν έχει μελετηθεί επαρκώς, ιδιαίτερα ανάμεσα σε γονείς. Με αφορμή αυτό το ερευνητικό κενό, η παρούσα έρευνα αποσκοπεί στη διερεύνηση του νοήματος στη ζωή και της οικογενειακής ικανοποίησης σε ένα δείγμα 162 Ελλήνων/ίδων γονέων παιδιών τυπικής και μη τυπικής ανάπτυξης. Οι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες εξετάστηκαν με το Meaning in life Questionnaire (Steger et al., 2006, σε μετάφραση των Πλατσίδου και Καρούσου, χ.χ.), την Κλίμακα Οικογενειακής Επικοινωνίας (Olson & Barnes, 1996, σε μετάφραση των Platsidou & Tsirogiannidou, 2016) και την Κλίμακα Οικογενειακής Ικανοποίησης (Olson, 1995, σε μετάφραση των Platsidou & Tsirogiannidou, 2016). Σύμφωνα με τα ευρήματά μας, οι γονείς ανέφεραν ότι βιώνουν μέτρια προς υψηλή παρουσία νοήματος αλλά συνεχίζουν να αναζητούν σε μέτριο βαθμό νόημα στη ζωή τους. Επίσης, ανέφεραν ότι βιώνουν αρκετά υψηλή οικογενειακή ικανοποίηση. Η παρουσία νοήματος (αλλά όχι και η αναζήτηση) παρουσιάζει μικρές θετικές συσχετίσεις με όλες τις διαστάσεις της οικογενειακής ικανοποίησης. Τέλος, αν και οι δύο ομάδες γονέων δεν ήταν ισάριθμες, διαπιστώθηκε μια στατιστική σημαντική διαφορά μόνο στην παρουσία νοήματος, με τους γονείς παιδιών μη τυπικής ανάπτυξης να αναφέρουν υψηλότερα επίπεδα από ό,τι οι γονείς παιδιών τυπικής ανάπτυξης. Τα ευρήματα αυτά υποδεικνύουν ότι οι συμβουλευτικές παρεμβάσεις που επικεντρώνονται στην ενίσχυση της παρουσίας νοήματος στη ζωή των γονέων μπορεί να είναι επωφελείς για την ενίσχυση της οικογενειακής ικανοποίησης και, κατ’ επέκταση, της οικογενειακής λειτουργικότητας.
