Abstract
The aim of this article is to explore the use of historical documentaries in the teaching of history. Documentaries, which focus on the lives and actions of historical figures, are an innovative educational tool that can make a significant contribution to the teaching of history, improving not only students' historical knowledge but also their attitudes towards history. Through the use of modern technologies and a student-centered approach, documentaries offer students a unique opportunity to visualize and understand complex and distant historical events. The documentary "Following Theodoros Kolokotronis" places the viewer in the footsteps of the great general and attempts to take them on a fascinating journey through his life and work. Through an audiovisual narrative adapted to the needs of the students, the video offers a vivid depiction of the key stages of Kolokotronis' life, from his childhood to his death. The documentary also emphasizes time and place, allowing students to better understand the historical context in which events unfolded. In this way, it arouses their interest in history, encourages them to explore the subject further and helps them to change their attitudes towards it.
