Abstract
After the fire of 1841 at the Monastery of Panagia Trooditissa, the 16th C. iconostasis was sawn in pieces and incorporated in the new one. During ‘reconstruction’ of the Trooditissa’s iconostasis an identical one was identified in the katholikon of the Monastery of Panagia Chryssokourdaliotissa, Kourdali, and with minor differences in style the one from the Panagia tou Sinti (Kykkos Museum). Were these iconostases created for the above churches? Did the woodcarvers constitute a local workshop or the iconostases were imported? Their dating and models? are some of the questions that arise.
