Abstract
The church of Panagia Skripou in Orchomenos, Boeotia, attracts a number of scholars due to its architectural type, its exact date and its sculptural decoration, as well as other features, such as the reuse of earlier material in its construction. In this article new evidence is presented from the archaeological research that has taken place in the church and its surroundings and from archives that contribute to a closer approach to the life of the monument over the centuries, revealing new aspects of its history.
