Abstract

In 1998 during the preservation of the wall decoration of St. George Omorphokklesia the donor representation was found in the north porch of the church. Christ Pantokrator is depicted in the center, who is blessing a standing female figure to his left, while the corresponding figure to the right has been destroyed. Iconographic and stylistic features in conjunction with the particular history of the region date the composition to 1365-1385. The exterior wall paintings of the former monastery, which was renovated by the represented donors from Kastoria, who were responsible for this phase, are likewise dated to this period.
