Abstract

Eighteen pectoral crosses are examined in groups according to their decoration: representations of the Crucified Christ, the Virgin, saints, inscriptions. Thirteen are cross-reliquaries, while the rest are simple cast pectoral crosses. Most of the can be dated to the period after Iconoclasm and up to the thirteenth century.
