Abstract

This article aims at presenting and studying representative types of pottery made in Italy from rescue excavations of the Upper City of Patras. The material includes glazed as well as non glazed pottery. The nature and types of vessels represent productions of workshops from Southern, Central and Northern Italy, dating from the 13th to the 18th century The imported Italian pottery found in Patras bears evidence to the intense commercial activity in its port at the time of the Principality of Achaea, and continued during Ot- toman domination.
