Book review: Christodoulou, M. (2025)."Contemporary approaches to qualitative data analysis". Pedio.
Abstract
This book examines different methods of qualitative data analysis and focuses on the fundamental approaches of qualitative research. In Part 1, it analyzes the significance of qualitative data in sociological research and explores both scientific and social approaches to their analysis. In Part 2, the author examines the methodology of «Grounded Theory» (GTM), emphasizing the importance of the continuous interaction between theory and data. In Part 3, the book focuses on qualitative research approaches in Greece and the application of Grounded Theory within the Greek social context. In Part 4, it addresses the process of systematic literature review and the methods used for data analysis, such as PRISMA. Finally, in Part 5, the significance and application of qualitative research are examined with the aim of generating new theoretical knowledge and developing new concepts.
