Abstract
The purpose of the research is to investigate the role and the degree of participation in the decision-making process of school leaders and collective bodies of school organizations. One hundred and eighty (182) secondary school educators responded to the survey through a process of non-proportional stratified sampling. They were asked to respond to 35 questions, a structure questionnaire was constructed for the purpose of this investigation. Statistical analysis of data was done through descriptive statistics, with the help of IBM SPSS statistics v.23 program. The survey results revealed significant shortcomings and weaknesses in our education system, focusing on issues of school autonomy. The limited role of school leadership, as well as inadequate participation in the decision-making process of both directors and teachers, pupils and their parents, is noticed.
