Supporting teachers working in the Special Vocational Education and Training: Exploring Educational Needs
Abstract
The role of Teachers working in Special Vocational Education and Training requires specialized knowledge and skills, versatile competences and increased academic qualifications. Undoubtedly, one of the key efficacy parameters of any teacher training program is the quality in its design, which is largely determined by matching its specifications with the trainees’ identified needs and demands. In this context, the present study attempted to quantitatively investigate the training needs of special education teachers in the Attica Region, in order to formulate a comprehensive proposal for a training program based on teachers’ recorded needs and suggestions.
