Abstract

The institution of compulsory education contributed to the need for psychosocial support in educational structures. The science of school psychology is fundamental to psychosocial support, learning and child development. The modern role of the school psychologist is multi-dimensional and involves a variety of areas of psychological-counselling services. The period of the pandemic and the serious psychosocial consequences it brought about, highlighted even more the usefulness of the presence of School Psychologists in all educational structures, as well as the necessity of specialised distance counselling and support with specific support protocols, which should be standardised and homogeneous and should also refer to distance psychological support to pupils, parents and teachers
