Abstract
The emerging focus on Emotional Intelligence in the field of contemporary educational practices has been this paper’s main point of interest. Considering that learning how to teach is above all a continuing and constructive process, this article aims to draw attention onto the dynamics of emotions and the way they are inextricably interwoven with the development of children as rounded and active members of the community. The imperative need to provide people with the levels of Emotional Literacy they need, in order to find ways of making their lives full, rewarding and meaningful, will be also highlighted as an essential priority of every contemporary educational system. Additionally, a review of the most innovative emotion-focused educational approaches and policies will be presented.
