Abstract
While the question of school readiness gains ground all over the world, there are still floating issues which are related with the coherent concept of the concept and its applications in the improvement learning and the development of all children, the quality of teachers institutions, and the participation of their families and communities in their children’s education. The present study attempts a wider redefinition on its theoretical concept of school readiness based on the ecosystem model for the child's transition from the kindergarten into the elementary school. The study of relevant researches highlights the important impact of characteristics from the family, the neighborhood and the quality of care and development at the nursery and the kindergarten in child's school readiness and particularly on cognitive skills and its socio-emotional adequacy.
