Automaton is a scholarly journal of digital media and culture that aspires to serve as a platform for critical interdisciplinary approaches to the cultural transformations taking place in the 21st century in Greece and globally. Its primary orientation is the investigation of the role of bio-informational and techno-social media in social relations, the constitution of the body, work and leisure, politics, as well as planetary-scale shifts in the environment and governance. Its central point of reference is digital media, and more specifically the impact of the (re-)mediation of the natural and social world through informational systems.
