Abstract

In the 21st century, individuals are confronted with a large number of different and complicated tasks and are invited to adjust to a constantly changing environment. Pandemic Covid-19 posed serious threats at psychosocial, economic and educational level. Every single person had to cope with the consequences of pandemic and adjust to a new lifestyle. This paper, based on international research data and recent studies around the word, presents basic aspects of Resilience. We will analyze the evolution of this term through time and we will highlight the main factors that intervene with one’s ability to bounce back and confront with her/his problems. Protective factors help us to cope with adverse circumstances, whereas risk factors pose threatens to somebody’s development. Furthermore, we focus on the importance of school environment and teacher-student relationship to the empowerment of students’ resilience. Research data highlight the key role of school setting and teacher as far as student’s resilience and psychosocial development are concerned. Consequently, the main purpose here is to provide a more detailed understanding of the concept of Resilience.
