The transition from the family to the Preschool: The management, by the teacher, of the toddler's anxiety. Field Research
Abstract
The aim of the article is to investigate how pre-school teachers manage the anxiety manifested by toddlers during their transition from the family to the pre-school environment. The ways (practices) of managing stress in the pre-school context, such as whether or not the Teacher meets the parents or the child before joining it, the presence or not of the mother in the Pre-School Structure, the use or not of a transitional subject matter and the type of care that the Educators offer when the child joins the Preschool Structure, are examined in relation to the Demographic data of the Educators, such as their age, their years of service, their specialty and their level of study. The results of the research reveal that the ways of managing the anxiety of the toddler, by the Educators, does not appear with the same frequency and that the choice of each way of management is influenced by the Demographic data of the educators.
