Ο Streptococcus agalactiae ως αιτιολογικός παράγοντας σφοδρής κλινικής μαστίτιδας προβάτων

Περίληψη

Μελετήθηκαν μαζικά κρούσματα οξείας κλινικής μαστίτιδας σε πρόβατα από επτά ποίμνια, που βρίσκονται στην ίδια περιοχή του Ν. Λάρισας. Ο αιτιολογικός παράγοντας της νόσου ταυτοποιήθηκε ως ο Streptococcus agalactiae με βάση τις βιοχημικές και ορολογικές δοκιμές. Επιπλέον, εφαρμογή της ανοσοηλεκτροφόρησης του παλλόμενου πεδίου (PFGE) σε αντιπροσωπευτικά στελέχη έδειξε πλήρη ομοιότητα των εξεταζόμενων στελεχών. Τα αποτελέσματα δείχνουν ότι ο S. agalactiae πρέπει να θεωρείται σημαντικό παθογόνο αίτιο πρόκλησης μαστίτιδας των προβατίνων, που χαρακτηρίζεται από υψηλή νοσηρότητα, εύκολη μετάδοση και ταχεία μείωση της γαλακτοπαραγωγής. Η αντιμικροβιακή θεραπεία ήταν αναποτελεσματική, ακόμη και με αντιβιοτικά στα οποία τα στελέχη του S. agalactiae ήταν ευαίσθητα στο αντιβιόγραμμα, ενώ η χορήγηση αυτεμβολίου αποδείχθηκε ιδιαίτερα ελπιδοφόρος.
