Περίληψη

Το Αναπνευστικό Σύνδρομο των Αναπτυσσόμενων και Παχυνόμενων Χοίρων (ΑΣΑΠΧ) αποτελεί παγκοσμίως το κυριότερο οικονομικό πρόβλημα των συγχρόνων χοιροτροφικών εκμεταλλεύσεων. Πρόκειται για συνθέτη παθολογική κατάσταση με επιζωοτιολογικά χαρακτηριστικά και κλινική εικόνα που διαφέρει σημαντικά από εκτροφή σε εκτροφή, ανάλογα με το συνδυασμό των παθογόνων παραγόντων, τα εμπλεκόμενα στελέχη, τις συνθήκες του περιβάλλοντος και την κτηνιατρική διαχείριση που εφαρμόζεται σε κάθε εκτροφή. Τα παραπάνω δυσχεραίνουν την ταυτοποίηση των εμπλεκόμενων παραγόντων και τον έλεγχο του συνδρόμου, με αποτέλεσματο ΑΣΑΠΧ να αποτελεί σήμερα μία από τις σημαντικότερες αιτίες της δραματικής αύξησης της χρήσης αντιμικροβιακών ουσιών στη χοιροτροφία. Η επιτυχής αντιμετώπιση του ΑΣΑΠΧ,βασίζεται στην υιοθέτηση των αρχών της κτηνιατρικής διαχείρισης, σε επίπεδο εκτροφής, οι οποίες συνίστανται στην πιστή εφαρμογή των κατάλληλων κατά περίπτωση προγραμμάτων εξυγανσης, εμβολιασμού και μεταφυλαξης (έλεγχος των νοσολογικών προβλημάτων μετά την εμφάνιση των πρώτων κλινικών περιστατικών). Στη μελέτη αυτή παρουσιάζονται ορισμένα γενικά στοιχεία εμπλουτισμένα με νεότερα δεδομένα που αφορούν το ΑΣΑΠΧ (αιτιολογία,επιξωοτιολογία, παθογένεια, κλινική εικόνα, διάγνωση) και αναλύεται η σημερινή διάσταση του προβλήματος στη χώρα μας. Τέλος, δίνεται ιδιαίτερη έμφαση στα απαραίτητα μέτρα που πρέπει να εφαρμοστούν από τους Έλληνες κτηνιάτρους και χοιροτρόφους μεστόχο τον έλεγχο του συνδρόμου και την προστασία της δημόσιας υγείας.
