Περίληψη

Στόχος της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η διερεύνηση της ικανότητας παρακολούθησης της κατανόησης κειμένου στην επίδοση μαθητών και μαθητριών  δημοτικού. Για τις ανάγκες της έρευνας επιλέχθηκε μαθητικός πληθυσμός πέμπτης δημοτικού από διαφορετικά εκπαιδευτικά περιβάλλοντα (σχολεία). Συνολικά εξετάστηκαν 80 μαθητές και μαθήτριες τυπικής ανάπτυξης. Η εξέταση ήταν ατομική και στην πρώτη φάση περιλάμβανε την αξιολόγηση του γενικότερου νοητικού δυναμικού των συμμετεχόντων/ουσών με τη χορήγηση των υπο-κλιμάκων του Λεξιλογίου και της Μνήμης από το WISC-III καθώς και του γενικότερου επιπέδου της αναγνωστικής ικανότητας και κατανόησης κειμένου με τη χορήγηση του Τεστ-Α. Στη δεύτερη φάση της εξέτασης οι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες εξετάστηκαν ατομικά σε τρία κείμενα με εσωτερικές νοηματικές αντιφάσεις και ένα κείμενο ελέγχου σε υπολογιστικό περιβάλλον. Τα αποτελέσματα αποκάλυψαν ότι οι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες δεν φαίνεται να παρακολουθούν με επιτυχία το επίπεδο της κατανόησής τους, όπως αυτό προκύπτει από τις λανθασμένες απαντήσεις στις ερωτήσεις με αντιφατικό περιεχόμενο. Η συμβολή της έρευνας συνίσταται στην παροχή εμπειρικών δεδομένων για τη συνδυασμένη επίδραση γνωστικών και μεταγνωστικών παραγόντων στην επίδοση σε έργα κατανόησης κειμένου σε παιδιά σχολικής ηλικίας, καλύπτοντας ένα σημαντικό κενό στην ελληνική σχετική βιβλιογραφία.
