Self conception of the students of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki studies and work thereafter
Abstract
This paper presents a part of a postdoctoral research conducted in the autumn of 2015 by the Department of Political Science and concerned the socialization of the students of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In this section, students' views on their professional aspirations were explored at the end of their studies. The qualities that related to their view of ideal work, at least in terms of themselves and on the basis of their studies, were proposed and they were called to prioritize them. The rationale behind the research was based on the theoretical framework of Frank Parsons and Super, while the survey method was used. The main findings of the survey are the adoption by students of more realistic goals that are specific to the country's economic and social situation in recent years. In addition, some sub-relationships between gender and the direction of study were observed.
