Crisis management in tourism and post–crisis hospitality sector restructuring: the case in Greece
Abstract
This paper is an analysis of issues concerning the management of global crises which affect tourism and hospitality. The main areas of research address the nature of crisis management by both the destination country and the tourism sector itself, examining such issues as the preparedness and response during the period following the outbreak of Covid-19 as well as the recovery and resilience
during the period of resolution. This paper aims to periodize the pandemic crisis management in the Greek tourism, so to interpret the restructuring of the sector in each phase. In order to utilize the acquired knowledge, to mitigate future
negative impacts from other pandemic crises of destinations and enterprises.
