About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The focus of Science and Society: Journal of Political and Moral Theory lies at the intersection of scientific and philosophical theorizing in the field of politics and social practice.

Science and Society aspires to promote in-depth, engaged scholarly research alongside interdisciplinarity, impartiality, critical spirit, and methodological innovation.  It invites contributions from a wide and diverse community of researchers, from experienced academics as well as younger scholars.

Science and Society seeks to provide a forum of critical academic dialogue enriching the public sphere and civil society in their national and global dimensions. In this respect, the journal welcomes manuscripts and short commentaries in the Greek or English language, spanning a wide range political and social issues, political communication and media, moral theory, political sociology, political economy, political and social psychology, and cultural studies. Book reviews and review essays are also welcomed.

Peer Review Process

Science and Society follows a double-blind review process which ensures the ethical treatment of all submissions. Normally, two Reviewers are invited to comment on a manuscript, but a third Reviewer can be invited if the original reviews provide disagreeing assessments.

For all submissions, Editors provide the Author with an explanation of the editorial decision that integrates reviewer comments and offers additional suggestions.

The Journal follows a strict confidentiality policy. Editors shall not disclose information about a manuscript to anyone other than Reviewers and Authors.

The Editors assess manuscripts on the basis of their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
