Business ethics: theories and practices

Ιορδάνης Κ. Παπαδόπουλος
Abstract
The author aims to reason in a critical way about both the subject and the proper methodology of business ethics. On this basis, he attempts to show that the criticism against the scientific status of business ethics is not a sound one, although the discipline could ultimately be constructed on the basis of a sort of theoretical hybridism. Towards this direction, he discusses the range of objects that business ethics deals with from an interdisciplinary point of view. Furthermore, he focuses upon the examination of central issues such as social responsibility, corporate citizenship, the stakeholders’ approach, the ethical decision model and moral pluralism.
