Signatures des peintres postbyzantins. Témoignages personnels et artistiques
Abstract
The article examines the signatures on portable icons and wall-paintings of the Post-Byzantine period, as personal and artistic testimonies of the painters. It documents also developments and differentiations in the manner of signing works, as well as the personality of the painters in the historical and social frameworks of the places in which they were active.
