Abstract

This article reviews the production of wood-carved works on Mount Athos in the period 1600-1750. This production starts with the iconostasis in the Protaton, work of the monk Neophytos (1611), and ends with early Baroque creations, such as the iconostasis in the katholikon of the Stavronikita monastery (1743) and parts of the iconostasis from the Kalathas cell at Karyes (1760).
