… Ἐν τόπω της χλόης. Cypriot deesis in Trianta, Rhodes
Abstract
In the church of the Dormition of the Virgin in Trianta, Rhodes a Cypriot Deesis icon was recently discovered, dated by an inscription to 1514, in which the deceased reader Paul and his wife are depicted kneeling. The extant inscriptions and comparison with contemporary icons, combined with the discovery of the work outside Cyprus, underline its significance.
