Abstract

In 1651/2 the Moldavian voivode Vasile Lupu (1634-1653) and his wife Katerina donated seven podeai to the church of the Annunciation, the katholikon of the Moldavian monastery Golia, which from 1606 is already the metochion of Vatopedi monastery. The seven gold-thread podeai together with an epitaphios and an epitrachelion constitute an ensemble and are kept today in the sacristy of Vatopedi monastery. In three of the podeai presented in the present paper there is a dedicatory inscription:
