This special issue of Homo Virtualis Journal is devoted to the symposium: “From Internet to Blockchain: Social informatics, digital and creative economy, virtual worlds, implications and challenges for society and individuals” which was organized by the Virtual Reality, Internet Research and Learning Laboratory (Department of Psychology, Panteion University). The symposium was hosted in Athens, Greece, at the Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, on December 11, 2018. Special thanks to the speakers, research staff, and the members of the organizing committee whose support and contributions made this conference such a dynamic and inspirational event. This special issue contains selected papers that cover a broad range of current trends and interdisciplinary approaches in the social research on Blockchain and disruptive technologies in general.
