A Sketch Plan of Late Antiquity in Athens
Abstract
The inept sketch on the pavement of the propylon of the Pompeion of Athens represents a round building with an addition of a sanctuary on the east and an antechamber on the west. In all probability it depicts an Early Christian building of circular plan. Given the scarcity of architectural drawings of this period, this sketch becomes particularly noteworthy.
