Abstract

The monument, near Stomion, was incomplete ruins in 2003. Various morphological and constructional elements place it in the early period of the Ottoman occupation. Its reconstruction was based on two drawings of A. Normand (1851). The katholikon is of the so-called Athonite type with lite. It is worthnoticing that it faithfully copies the church of the Prophet Elijah in Thessalonike.
