Abstract

Presented in terms of codicology, iconography and style is the manuscript Gospel-book of 1226, now in the Gennadius Library, Athens (MS 1.5), which comes from Caesarea in Cappadocia and is a work of the scribe Basil from Melitene, protonotarios of the Sultan of Ikonion, Alaeddin Kaikobad I. Study of the codex links it with the art that developed in the workshops of Armenian Cilicia.
