Abstract

This article discusses a series of sixteenth-century icons in the Varlaam monastery at Meteora in Thessaly, in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and in the M. Latsis Collection in Athens. These are works by painters of the important local Epirote School or School of Northwest Greece, as it is also called.
