Observations on the history of the construction of the church of the Panagia Skripou in Boeotia
Abstract
The church of Panagia Skripou at Orchomenos has been the subject of various scholarly articles in the past. The scope of this article is to give a brief account of its building history either from the archaeological data (i.e. its masonry) regarding its earlier phases or from the archival material (pictures and drawings) regarding its later phases. The edifice had in total seven building phases. R. Schultz’s unpublished drawings deserve special emphasis as they contain information about the now lost dome of the church.
