Abstract

Based on an analytical examination of the surviving remains of various elements of fortification, where possible, and on the study of their typological, construction and morphological characteristics, this paper attempts to approach the construction history and architecture of the Fortress of Livadeia, a particularly important monument of medieval fortification in the geographical area of southern Greece.
