Icons of the “school” of Kastoria
Abstract
In this study eight icons are published, which come from churches in Kastoria and its vicinity (Omorfokklesia, Nestorio) and are now found in the Byzantine Museum of the city. Also included among these is an icon in the National Museum of Medieval Art at Korytsa (Korçë). These icons out of a total of thirty comprise high-quality representative works by anonymous artists of the so-called school of Kastoria of the last quarter of the 15th century.
