Observations on the history of construction and the architecture of the structural complex of the refectory in the Great Lavra
Abstract
The study aims to reexamine the complicated construction al history and the architecture of the fascinating Trapeza complex (Refectory) of the Megiste Lavra Monastery on Mount Athos. The main conclusion drawn from the investigation is that the Refectory building does not date to the middle Byzantine period, but rather was constructed at the beginning of the 16th century.
