A triptych of the art of George Klontzas in Bucharest
Abstract
A triptych in the National Museum of Art of Romania in Bucharest, the left leaf of which is missing, is typical of the art of the great painter GeorgiosKlontzas (mentions1562-1608). Its representations, the spelling of its inscriptions and its relation to other triptychs by the painter are discussed. It is an unequal work, on which members of Klontzas’ workshop possibly also worked.
